Missed my deadline but I finished the mausoleum. Spec is finished too but maya was giving me problems while I was setting up my lights. When I figure out the problem I'll post a newer pic. Now i will move on to getting things into UDK, making a few more props and getting in all the final little details. I'm looking to make this scene as good as possible even if it takes a little longer than I hoped.

Another update, still not quite finished. I still need to texture in the cracks and breaks in the cement.


An update on where I am on the texture. I'm about 2-3 hours in on the diffuse so far. Trying to finish it tonight.

I finally got a chance to bake the normals. Now to clean up the map and start texturing. Over the next week I am hoping to finish this project and start my demo reel. So, knock on wood, I will have a graveyard this weekend.

Here is the base for the mausoleum, extra faces will be deleted on the final model where the body of the mausoleum will set.


I also went back to my base model and blocked in the door. This is just the model for my sculpt not the final game res. The final model will have gargoyles on the two plateaus by the steps and some sort of pottery along the sides.

This is the pillar to the mausoleum, it's sculpted and ready to bake. I still have to sculpt the other pieces to the pillar and uv the game res.

A mausoleum I started blocking out. Plan to sculpt this model over the next day or two; then hopefully bake the normals by Sunday and start texturing.

The two gravestones I posted last time are finished and are on the portfolio site, but being the cool guy I am,  I will post them here as well.

Tree

This is where I am at on the tree. My concepts are drawn on paper, I may try to draw a quick one up in photoshop just so you know where I am going with all these props.

Been wanting to do a graveyard for a while. For this project I am going to try and utilize all I have learned  so far. 

These are two gravestones I have sculpted so far, I plan to have 4 or 5 total for variation.

Working on a portfolio site

I have a whole new project I am working on at the moment for a new portfolio site. I will be posting all my w.i.p pics over the next few days. The site will be geared toward environment modeling, so I will be taking a break with characters for a while. I am working on a boiler room which I plan to bring into UDK. Its going to be a challenge, but that's what makes this work exciting.

Back at it...


Things haves finally started slowing down and I can finally get back to work. This is a base model for a lighthouse I have been modeling in my spare time. The uv's are being laid out and I will start making normals and texturing. With this project I am trying to ease back into environment modeling; the next few projects will be geared toward making a new portfolio site.
